Summer Lockpicking Weekend Course in Bohemian Switzerland
In August 2017, members of the Czech Lockpickers Association decided to organize a weekend summer course in the picturesque region of Bohemian Switzerland. For this unique event, they rented a spacious and beautiful cabin, which not only provided an excellent setting for learning and sharing experiences but also offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
The entire weekend was dedicated not only to lockpicking but also to other technical skills. In addition to traditional training in opening padlocks, cylinder locks, and freestyle techniques, participants embraced new challenges. Some tried soldering for the first time, while others practiced engraving and experimented with customizing their tools.
To add some variety, participants also took a hiking trip. A climb up Vlčí Hora (Wolf Mountain) and a visit to the lookout tower provided a perfect opportunity to take a break from the delicate mechanics of lockpicking and enjoy the stunning summer landscape of one of the most beautiful regions in the Czech Republic.
The weekend course was not just about skill development but also about strengthening the community. Evenings by the fire were filled with discussions, not only about the latest security trends and lock mechanisms but also about life and future plans. The exchange of knowledge between newcomers and experienced lockpickers was an invaluable benefit for all attendees.
